AWCIA Announces the 5 Points of Focus the Organization uses to Evaluate Strategic Initiatives
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA - On February 13th, the AWCIA Identified Five Points of Focus it uses to consider initiatives for support in the American Weather Enterprise.
The American Weather and Climate Industry Association support initiatives whose strategic purpose fits within five primary tenets:
- To empower and facilitate the American weather enterprise toachieve its full potential
- To define the value chain of all parts of the American weatherenterprise to ensure the American public is served with the bestpossible information employing the most cost efficient combination ofprivate and public institutions.
- To place special focus on NOAA/NWS role as the builder of thenation’s core weather infrastructure, public warnings for events thatpose imminent threat to life and property, and working withAmerica’s Weather Industry, to achieve world-wide leadership inweather and weather media.
- To focus federal support to ensure a legislative and budgetaryagenda which makes maximum and optimum use of all parts, publicand private, of the American weather enterprise.
