AMS Recognizes AccuWeather
STATE COLLEGE, PA. December 5, 2009 – AccuWeather, Inc. today announced that it has received the Corporate Award from the American Meteorological Society (AMS) for “nearly 50 years of exceptional innovation and leadership in weather applications and communication”.
"The theme of our meeting in 2010 deals with the increasingly important role that is being played by those who provide weather forecasts as those forecasts become ever more critical in serving the nation," Dr. Keith Seitter, Executive Director of the AMS, said. "I am therefore very pleased to see this award go to AccuWeather, Inc., which has been a leader for decades in providing services to meet the needs of media, enterprise, and the public.”

Barry Lee Myers, CEO of AccuWeather, Inc. said. He added, "We are pleased AMS bestowed this recognition for AccuWeather’s work supporting the American Weather Enterprise, and especially for helping the public with actionable weather information, and the saving of lives and property.”
